TRANSITION PROGRAM
Most students begin their time at Wiltja in the Transition class. This is also where most Short Term groups and Transition students will be hosted.
The focus of the Transition program is on:
Promotion from the Transition class requires students to have a combination of academic abilities, social skills and learning behaviours that will allow them to experience success in mainstream classes.
The focus of the Transition program is on:
- familiarisation with the rules and routines of a large suburban secondary school
- literacy and numeracy development
- social skills - cooperation, teamwork, respect, manners and etiquette
- work habits and organisational skills
