YEAR 8-10
Wiltja students in year 8 to 10 spend approximately half of their time in Wiltja classes and the other half in mainstream WHS classes.
Wiltja classes
Wiltja staff deliver a range of lessons with a focus on literacy and numeracy development, increasing knowledge of the wider world and understanding of issues relevant to their home communities. These classes include:
- English
- Maths
- Humanities and Social Sciences - History, Geography, Civics & Citizenship
- Science
- Health
- Pitjantjatjara Language
- Work Education
Mainstream classes
Wiltja staff provide varying levels of support for Wiltja students in mainstream classes and work in collaboration with WHS teachers in order to achieve the best outcomes possible for students. Mainstream classes accessed include:
- English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD)
- Maths
- Science
- Electives - options include Physical Education, Technology Studies, Home Economics, Art and Music
